The County Board Chair, with the advice and consent of the County Board makes appointments to the governmental bodies listed below.
The closing date for accepting applications is the Friday before the first
Committee of the Whole meeting of the month the appointment is to take place.
The County Board Chair reserves the right to change the application deadline, if
deemed necessary.

BOARD OF REVIEW
COMPOSITION: 3 Members
Term of Office: 2 Years
QUALIFICATIONS
- No person may serve on
the Board of Review who is not qualified by virtue of experience and training
in the field of property appraisal and property tax administration.
- No person may serve on the Board of Review who has not passed
an examination prepared and administered by the Illinois Department of Revenue
to determine his or her competence to hold such office.
- The Board of Review shall at all times consist of two members
with the political party polling the highest vote for any County office in the
County, and one member of the party polling the second highest vote for the
same County office in the County at the last General Election in the County
prior to the time any appointment is made.
SPECIAL PROVISIONS
In counties under township organization containing less
than 1,000,000 inhabitants, members of the County Board may, but are not
required to, be appointed to the Board of Review
