County Board Appointments
The County Board Chair, with the advice and consent of the County Board makes appointments to the governmental bodies listed below.
The closing date for accepting applications is the Friday before the first
Committee of the Whole meeting of the month the appointment is to take place.
The County Board Chair reserves the right to change the application deadline, if
deemed necessary.

Gender Balance Appointment Act
URBANA-CHAMPAIGN SANITARY DISTRICT BOARD
COMPOSITION: 3 Members
Term of Office: 3 years
QUALIFICATIONS
- Each appointee must be a resident of the sanitary
district.
- The Sanitary District Board of Trustees shall
consist of members not more than two of whom shall be affiliated with the same
political party.
- Not more than two members may be from one incorporated
city, town or village in districts in which are included two or more incorporated
cities, towns or villages.
SPECIAL PROVISIONS
Five member boards shall be created in any sanitary district “which includes
one or more municipalities with a population of over 100,000, but less than 500,000,
according to the most recent Federal census”. 70 ILCS 2405/3
Each of the trustees shall enter into a bond in an amount
as the County Board may determine. No
trustee shall be directly or indirectly interested in any contract, work or
business of the district or sale of any article which is sold to the district;
nor in the purchase of real estate or property belonging to the district. This does not include paying taxes to the
district.
