Thank You!
Despite the gloomy weather,
36 hardy
Champions4Children
walkers gathered at the Courthouse Plaza
on Saturday, May 14th to participate in the
2011 Champions4Children 5K Walk
to support the Champaign
County
Children’s Advocacy
Center!
Fortunately, the rain stopped as check-in began!
Mike Williams, Executive Director of the Children’s
Advocacy
Center, welcomed the walkers and Debbie
Miller of Louisville,
Kentucky, treated the crowd to a
beautiful rendition of
“Innocent Child.”
Our Grand Marshal, State Representative Naomi Jakobsson, then led us
on the short walk to Crystal Lake Park
where we joined hundreds of runners and walkers participating in the
20th Annual Twin Cities Twosome.
The rain held off until everyone had crossed the finish line
at Crystal Lake Park!
Thanks so much to our Champions4Children walkers!!!

Although this year’s walk is over, you can still support the Champaign
County Children’s
Advocacy Center by making a donation.

Each
year, approximately 200 children are interviewed at the Champaign County
Children’s Advocacy
Center.
These children come to us following reports of sexual assault or
serious physical abuse. The
Center provides these children with a safe, welcoming place where they
are heard and where they and their families receive supportive, healing
services. Your support will
help ensure that these children and their families continue to receive
the help and support they need.
With your help, we can end child abuse in our community.
Thanks!
