The County Board Chair, with the advice and consent of the County Board makes appointments to the governmental bodies listed below.

The closing date for accepting applications is the Friday before the first Committee of the Whole meeting of the month the appointment is to take place. The County Board Chair reserves the right to change the application deadline, if deemed necessary.

LOCAL FOODS POLICY COUNCIL

COMPOSITION: 9 Members

Term of Office: 2 Years

QUALIFICATIONS

Members must be residents of the County.
All members are appointed by the County Board Chair.
1. Two members chosen from communities within the County.
2. Two members are local food representatives.
3. Two members from academic institutions.
4. Tow members from business/enterprise end users of local foods.
5. One member from the Champaign County Farm Bureau.

SPECIAL PROVISIONS:

The established council herein shall end May 31, 2014, at which time the County Board shall review and assess the continuing need for the Local Foods Policy Council.
