SUMMARY
Oversees all office microfilming and other document preservation activities for all County departments.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs and oversees the microfilming of over 252,000 documents annually for the County and maintains a record of all documents being filmed.
Plans and manages all microfilming activities.
Meets with sales and service personnel regarding equipment repair and needs.
Maintains an inventory of microfilm supplies and requisitions as needed.
Operates microfilm equipment and monitors quality to obtain maximum effectiveness.
Serves as Department liaison with Local Records Commissions and maintains Compliance Documents for all County Departments.
Performs equipment maintenance as necessary and/or contacts repair personnel.
Adjusts microfilm equipment to capture the best possible copy on poor quality documents.
Arranges for shredding of documents within Administrative Services Department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job does not exercise supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two years of college, business or technical school and a minimum of three years experience in microfilm processing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to department managers or other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
