Search and Rescue Team Information
Champaign County Sheriff Dan Walsh and
Champaign County Emergency Management Agency
have joined their respective agencies together to establish a
county-wide Search and Rescue Team. The end goal is to train
teams of volunteers to be at the ready to perform search and rescue
of persons, assist in the recovery of bodies, assist Law Enforcement
with evidence recovery, support disaster area operations and promote
safety.If you have questions, want to volunteer as a member

Duties
EMA has direct responsibility for the organization, administration,
training and operation of the County organization of emergency services
and disasters. In the event of a disaster, coordinates with local EMA
throughout the County and all Public Safety Departments to protect the
health and safety of persons, protect property and provide emergency
assistance to victims.
Mission Statement
To
provide an Emergency Management Program to plan for, respond to, and
recover from any natural or man-made disaster.
