New County Service Provides Property Fraud Alert
The Champaign County Recorder’s
Office is pleased to announce a new online service to help monitor and
protect land owners against property fraud. The subscription service is
offered free of charge as another valuable step towards providing the
newest and best resources available to the people of Champaign County.
Protecting consumers’ information
and real property are our top priority and require more attention and
vigilance than ever before. Fraud and identity theft are commonplace
problems in todays fast pace world. While Property Fraud Alert will not
prevent fraud from happening, it will provide an early warning system
that will allow our valued citizens to take appropriate actions should
they deem possible fraudulent activity.
Users need only go to the
website and enter their names and contact information; Subscribers
can choose to be contacted by phone or email. No personal information is
required and there is no fee to enroll.
