Welcome from the Recorder of Deeds

Barb Frasca has been Champaign County Recorder since winning her first election in 1996. She was previously an elementary school teacher in Champaign, as well as, a licensed realtor in Champaign County.

Barb was born in Urbana and raised in Champaign. She attended Centennial High School and graduated in 1984 from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She spent the next 10 years teaching public school in the Armstrong and then the Champaign school districts.

Barb resides in Champaign with her husband Tom and daughters, Gabrielle and Emily. Barb is a member of the Illinois Association of County Clerks and Recorder’s, a graduate of the Lincoln’s Series program to promote women in leadership, and a member of St. Matthew’s Church in Champaign.

Barb sold real estate throughout Champaign County before being elected as Recorder.
