We offer adoptions on our spayed and neutered animals. To begin the adoption process, please fill out this form. We will reach out once we review your inquiry. We schedule animal visits Monday-Friday 1:30pm-4:00pm. An appointment must be made for visits.

Impounding Return to top
Impounding happens when a stray animal, animal that has bitten, or owner relinquished animal is brought
to Champaign County Animal Control. If you suspect your animal has been brought in as a stray to Champaign
County Animal Control, please call us. All of our found animals can be found on 24petconnect. For information
on impounding, please view section 5 and 6 in our Animal Control Ordinance
document.

Rabies Vaccination Registration Fees Return to top
Champaign County Animal Control requires that all owners of dogs and cats over the age of four (4) months obtain a rabies vaccination for said animal and a County rabies tag through registration with Animal Control. The County rabies tag will be issued by the veterinarian administering the vaccination. The registration fee schedule can be found in Section 23 of the Animal Control Ordinance (see side navigation for a link to the Animal Control Ordinance).

At Champaign County Animal Control, we offer low cost vaccination options for the following:
FVRCP: A feline vaccination that prevents Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Panleukopenia
DAPP: A canine vaccination that prevents Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus
Bordetella: A canine vaccination that prevents Kennel Cough
Rabies Vaccination: A feline and canine vaccine that prevents Rabies.

Low Cost Spay/Neuter Return to top
Due to the volume of requests, the wait list is currently closed.
We offer low cost spay and neuter options for those receiving government aid like Social Security, Medicaid, SNAP benefits, and Disability. With our low cost spay/neuter, we require rabies vaccination. With your spay/neuter appointment, you can opt in for vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and microchip at no extra cost. To sign up for Low Cost Spay and Neuter, please visit our facility at 210 S. Art Bartell Rd. in Urbana to fill out an application. We will contact you once we have an opening for your animal.

Fostering Return to top
CCAC is now accepting applications for our animal fostering program. View our fostering requirements below to see if you qualify.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must own, or have a pet friendly rental
- Must pass a home check conducted by a CCAC officer
- Must pass a background check
- Must have reliable transportation
